Ema 'O Mahpe Lodge | Order of the Arrow

EMA 'O MAHPE Lodge Flap

Order of the Arrow - Ema 'O Mahpe Lodge

"From the beginning it has been our hope that the Order would serve a useful purpose in causing the Scout Promise and Law to spring into action, especially in the Scout camps in all parts of our nation. We are still dedicated to this high purpose."
E. Urner Goodman, Founder of the Order of the Arrow

Welcome to the Ema 'O Mahpe Lodge website. We are the Order of the Arrow lodge that serves the Cimarron Council. The Cimarron Council was formed in the summer of 2000 through a consolidation of the former Great Salt Plains Council and the former Will Rogers Council to provide better service to the communities, youth, and units of the new council.

The goal of our lodge is to cheerfully serve our council and its membership of over 6,500 youth in 19 counties in north western and north central Oklahoma. We work to upholding the high principles of the Order and Scouting and invite you to click on the links on this page, to find out more about our lodge and programs we offer.

As Scouting's National Honor Society, the Order of the Arrow is an integral part of the council's program.  Our service, activities, adventures, and training for youth and adults are models of quality leadership development and programming that enrich and help to extend Scouting to America's youth.

For nearly ninety years, their peers have honored those Scouts who "best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives" with membership in the Order of the Arrow.  This recognition provides encouragement for others to live these ideals as well.  We will provide ways and means for members of the Order of the Arrow to do more to assist their units and councils, and help them succeed in doing so.

We provide significant service to all three of our council camping properties: Williams Scout Reservation near Cleo Springs, Sundance Scout Center in Bison OK, and the Will Rogers Scout Reservation near Cleveland OK.  We also promote camping year round, conduct ceremonies, and provide cheerful service to Scouting.

In support of our vision as Scouting's National Honor Society and an integral part of every council, the Order of the Arrow will further increase its service to Scouting.

    Troop O.A. Representative & O.A. Chapters

We are asking all Troops in the Cimarron Council to nominate a youth Troop O.A. representative. This is a leadership position which can fulfill the leadership requirement for Star, Life, and Eagle. Scoutmasters, please send us the name & contact information for your O.A. representative.

We have also formed four O.A. Chapters, with Chapter Chiefs and Advisors to further assist us in serving the lodge. If you are interested in this, please contact one of our lodge officers listed on this website. If you are a Chapter Chief, please give us the specifics of your chapter meetings so we can list them here.

Guide for Officers and Advisors now online[Guide for Officers and Advisers cover][Guide for Officers and Advisers cover]

The National Order of the Arrow Committee recently voted to make materials more readily available to lodge leaders. As a result, the Guide for Officers and Advisers is now available online instead of through the National Supply division. This book provides support for lodge and chapter leaders. The online distribution allows better access for more Arrowmen. The guide reflects the current policies concerning the organization and administration of the Order of the Arrow Lodge. All lodge and chapter officers and advisers should have a copy.
