Religious "Knots"

Youth Religious AwardReligious Emblem
Religious emblem square knot, cloth, silver knot on purple, No. 00507, may be worn by youth or adult members who earned the knot as a youth, above left pocket.

Only one youth award square knot is worn, no matter how many times the holder earns a second or subsequent religious award as a youth member. For subsequent awards, the Scout wears the appropriate devices on his square knot to indicate multiple awards.

Adult Religious AwardAdult Religious Award
Cloth, purple knot on silver, No. 05014, may be worn by adult members presented with the recognition, above left pocket. Adults may wear both the Youth Religious Award knot and the Adult Religious Award knot if they satisfy qualifying criteria. Self-nomination is not allowed.

Only one Adult Religious Award square knot is worn regardless of how many awards have been received. It is possible, for example, to receive two or three levels of awards in some faiths or to receive awards from more than one faith.

Unit Religious Award
Is your Unit Chartered by a Church? Have you been a Quality Unit? If you answered YES to both questions, there may be a special award that your unit could qualify for but which very few units ever earn.
