Training

Cimarron Council is one of the first councils in the nation to offer the Boy Scouts of America new Scouter E-Learning Training Feature!  Set up your user account today.  You will be able to take all of BSA's on-line training courses AND have your successfully completed courses added to your ScoutNet records. Start today by clicking HERE.

Fast Start Training - This is the video or on-line training we recommend every new leader take right after they sign up.  Need a quick briefing on what your Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, or Venturing job is all about?  You can visit an online version of Fast Start Training for a quick overview of the either program and information about your Cub Scout, Boy Scout, or Venturer Leader job.  All Cub Scout Packs were also given a DVD copy of Fast Start in the Fall of 2005, it was included in the New Den Leader Kits that were passed out at the Fall Program Kickoff.  If you prefer to watch a video or DVD, we have all of these available for free checkout from the Cimarron Council Scout Service Center in Enid OK.  Please drop us a note after you have watch your version of Fast Start, just give us your name & tell us which Fast Start you have viewed or sign up for the E-Learning feature and we will automatically be informed and record all of your on-line training courses.  Fast Start will also be available to any leader for viewing at Will Rogers Summer Camp.

Youth Protection Training - As one of America's largest youth-serving organizations, our first job is to protect our youth from injury and abuse.  We are now offering the Youth Protection Training online. Click here to begin training and learn the facts and responsibilities of youth protection.  When you are done, you will be able to print off a trained certificate and we will be automatically notified that you have taken this course.

Safe Swim Defense & Safety Afloat - Before a BSA group may engage in swimming activities of any kind, a minimum of one adult leader must complete Safe Swim Defense & Safety Afloat Training, have a commitment card (No. 34243) with them, and agree to use the eight defenses in this plan.  These two training courses are now available online.  Currently, there is no direct reporting mechanism to know that you have successfully completed this online training. After you complete the online training you will get a printed certificate that you must forward or copy to the Cimarron Council Service Center in order to have it added to your training record.

NOTE: The training module requires the user to have the current version of the Macromedia Flash plug-in. Users who lack this plug-in will be directed to download it from Macromedia's Web site.
